What are the key responsibilities of a Senior IT Architect? 

Our business area sits within the Operations Department, and one can conclude that our primary responsibility is developing strategy and architecture in the IT Infrastructure domain. The team aims for a modern, reliable pool of IT infrastructure resources: computer, storage, platforms, and tools, that meet business needs efficiently. Key tasks include staying updated on new technologies, planning, and implementing their adoption, creating, and executing technological and financial plans. Additionally, architects provide support to colleagues whenever there is a need to design and deliver IT infrastructure for new applications or services. 

How do you ensure that the IT infrastructure strategy aligns with the organization's long-term goals? 

Magic doesn't exist in this case either. It's important to strive to understand the essence of the company's goals and plans and to place them in the context of IT infrastructure. Based on that, you then create an IT infrastructure strategy, using your experience and knowledge, as well as innovative ideas from others, and industry trends. Afterward, it's necessary to continuously monitor the performance of that strategy and adjust it according to circumstances and feedback on its success.

I'd like to briefly define key messages reflecting my experience and philosophy: 

• Challenging tasks foster creativity and innovation 

• Contact with diverse people is invaluable for learning 

• Authentic beliefs drive the best decisions, even unpopular ones 

• Mistakes are inevitable but facing and learning from them is crucial 

• I believe that “business is personal” because such an approach values personal relationships, empathy, and interpersonal connections. 

I would also like to add an interesting thought I came across: Luck often comes in the form of opportunities or favorable circumstances, but it is important to be able to recognize those opportunities and take advantage of them.
